About Us
We are the Severn Area Branch of the T.S. Vindicatrix Association (formerly the Gloucester Branch) which was renamed and widened to include lads from as far as possible. Sharpness, where it all began is right on the River Severn so we thought it appropriate to include that in the name. We meet every month but change location from Gloucester to Pershore so that more can join us - as we get older travelling gets more difficult.
The Association is all about the weeks spent training on the Vindi - where else could 6 weeks for catering and 10 weeks for deckies have such an impact on our lives? Many of us have had holidays that long but they probably have drifted into the distant memory - memories of the time spent on the Vindi (some good, some bad but never forgotten) are still so vivid we love to spend time revisiting. As we all get older friends and family mean more - we all need support from time to time - the feeling of camaraderie is still as strong today as it was then.
We meet on the 3rd Thursday of January, March, May, September, and November at the Royal Naval Club, Pershore at 7.30 p.m,.which is adjacent to Pershore Market off the High Street.
On the 3rd Tuesday of February, April, June, October we meet at the Royal British Legion Club, Green Lane, Hardwicke, Gloucester at 7.30 pm. We have a break in July and August for the reunion at Sharpness.
Any ex Vindi boy wishing to attend is more than welcome - wives too. Our ladies take an active part in the organisation of events.
